Historic Old King's Highway, Historic Highway, Historic Bed and Breakfast

Old King's Highway on Cape Cod winds past hundreds of historic sites , including our Historic Bed and Breakfast. This road of many names, Main Street, Route 6A and Old King's Highway, was begun as a Native American trail from Plymouth to Provincetown. Paralleling Cape Cod Bay for approximately 34 miles, it crosses through the communities of Bourne, Sandwich, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Brewster and Orleans and is considered one of the most scenic drives in the country.  There are many interesting and historic places to visit along the way, here are just a few: Aptucxet Trading Post, Olde Colonial Courthouse, Stoney Brook Grist Mill, Scargo Hill Tower, French Cable Station Museum, Sandwich Glass Museum and the Yarmouth Nature Trail.  There's  much to see and its best to take a few days to really appreciate the old world charm and history alone the way.  As you travel this historic route, be sure to stop by our c1699 Historic Inn, we love to show and share the history we live in each day.
